The City of Weston Police Department acts as the City of Weston's Animal Control Department. In order to report a stray animal, please contact the police department at (816) 640-2455. In the event of an emergency, please contact 911. Please note, we are unable to pick up stray animals on holidays.
The City of Weston will impound all stray pets that are found loose in public if the owner cannot be identified. The City of Weston requires that dogs be tagged annually to allow the Weston Police Department to be able to contact the owner prior to impounding the animal. Impounded animals will be housed for 5 business days and, if not claimed, will be released for adoption. In order to claim your pet, you will need to pay all impoundment fees and obtain a release from the Weston City Hall. Animals may be obtained Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Animals will not be released on weekends or holidays. Impounded animals are housed at -
