WESTON TRAFFIC COUNTS

The City of Weston on request of the Citizen's or at the request of the City Officials

try to solve Traffic related Issues. These issues may be speeders in the neighborhood, parking issues, how many vehicles on a roadway, and traffic issues in general.
In order to address these issues, a Traffic Study is done to see what the traffic in the particular area is doing.

Part of the study is a Traffic Count. The Traffic Count is conducted using two types of counters. The first type is the Radar Speed Trailer. The Speed Trailer records vehicles coming towards the trailer. The Radar Trailer also indicates to the on coming driver, the speed of their vehicle. The driver then can compare their speedometer to that of the Radar Trailer display.

The second type is the road-tube counters. These counter tubes are laid across the roadway, at a set distance apart.

A vehicle passes over the tubes and it records the vehicle type, speed, direction and counts each vehicle.

Once the traffic count study is completed, the data from the counters is downloaded into the reporting software.

What you will find here are the results of those traffic counts. Just click on the link to see the traffic counts.
